A teenage girl allegedly pulled a woman’s hair from her head during a fight in the Alice Springs city centre.
The 16-year-old assaulted the 41-year-old at a taxi rank about 6am on Sunday after the pair argued, Northern Territory police allege.
‘The youth is alleged to have grabbed the woman by the hair before she began physically assaulting her, causing the woman to fall to the ground,’ a spokesman said on Monday.

Two off-duty officers driving home after night shift saw the alleged assault near Bath Street Taxi rank.
They came to the victim’s aid and arrested the youth after she continued attacking the woman while she was on the ground.
The woman suffered facial injuries and significant hair loss and was taken to Alice Springs Hospital.
The teen was taken to the Alice Springs Watch House where she was charged with one count of Recklessly endangering serious harm.

Officers also charged her with obtain benefit by deception over the alleged possession and use of a stolen bank card.
The teen was remanded into custody by police.
She was scheduled to appear in the Local Court in Alice Springs on Monday.
