President Biden insisted he was ‘feeling great’ after taking a tumble on his bicycle over the long weekend in Rehobeth Beach, Delaware.
‘I’m feeling great. I’m feeling great. What happened was, do any of you guys ride bikes? Well, they have some that have this thing you put your toe in — holds your foot so it doesn’t slip out. I was getting off the bike, and it got stuck on the right side,’ the president told reporters Monday.
‘I’m fine,’ he insisted.
‘I fell in case you didn’t notice,’ he whispered to one reporter.
Upon trying to dismount the bike on Saturday, his shoes caught and he fell over sideways, causing a mad scramble of Secret Service and press trying to help him up.
Gasps rang out after the fall, which saw Biden, 79, stay on the ground for roughly 10 seconds, before being helped up by several Secret Service Agents, who immediately swarmed the downed Democrat.

Earlier he had told press, ‘I’m good,’ after falling over and taking his bike with him.

On Monday Biden’s daughter Ashley and granddaughter Natalie tried to pull the president away from reporters Monday after he started gabbing to the press mid-Rehoboth Beach walk.
‘Nope, like no more – No more questions,’ Ashley Biden said in a sing-song voice behind her dad, putting up her hands.
But then Biden was asked about the forthcoming G7 meeting and couldn’t resist giving an answer about his agenda there.

During his gaggle with reporters he said a recession is not inevitable and he will make a decision on a federal gas tax holiday by the end of the week.
Biden said that he talked to Larry Summers, a former economist for President Barack Obama, and rejected his suggestion that a recession is inevitable and said he will make a decision on whether to impose a federal gas tax holiday later this week.
‘There is nothing inevitable about a recession,’ the president told reporters.
A journalist had said that people were saying a recession was more inevitable than ever.
‘No the majority of them aren’t saying that. Don’t make things up. Now you sound like a Republican politician,’ Biden replied. ‘That’s a joke, that was a joke,’ he added.
