PRIME suspect: Carjacked Amazon delivery truck leads cops on wild highspeed chase smashing into vehicles on California freeway before fugitive driver is arrested

A man who stole an Amazon delivery truck led police on a wild high-speed chase down a California freeway, smashing into three cars and driving down the wrong side of the road.

Police began their pursuit behind fugitive driver Quintin Jarnall Larks, 32, at 5.18pm on Monday 25 July when officers were responding to two robbery reports at a mobile home in Riverside, California.

During their investigations, Riverside Police Department were also getting several calls of an Amazon delivery truck hitting several parked vehicles, who said the same man, Larks, stole the truck.

Larks ignored police attempts to stop him which led to the high-speed pursuit on the freeway where three cop cars followed directly behind him.

The truck can be seen crossing over the central reservation into oncoming traffic, where other motorists swerved out of the way as he sped on to escape officers.

Aerial footage also shows the delivery truck smashing into three vehicles, rear-ending one as he dashed from one lane to the next, cutting across another at an intersection and pushing into a pick-up into the median wall.

He then ditched the stolen Amazon vehicle, jump over the wall before running across the freeway.

The 32-year-old then puts his hands up to show police he was unarmed as he stands on the shoulder of the freeway, as police come to a halt in their vehicles just in front of him.

Aerial video shows Larks being held face down as officers arrest him. 

Riverside Police say none of those injured by the collisions on the freeway were serious.After the arrest, Larks was taken to a nearby hospital where he was cleared by doctors.

He was later charged with attempted murder, carjacking, driving under the influence of drugs causing injury, reckless evading of police, home invasion robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

Larks is now being held at a local jail on $1million bail.

Captain Chad Milby of the Riverside Police Department told Fox News: ‘This suspect posed a significant threat to our community. 

‘The composure and professionalism our officers, field supervisors and dispatchers performed during this intense and chaotic situation not only led to the apprehension of a very dangerous criminal, but demonstrated the high level of training our department goes through to keep Riverside safe.’
