CCTV released after sexual assault in Ipswich as Queensland Police appeal for dashcam

Woman going for a walk is ‘grabbed from behind and sexually assaulted’ in terrifying afternoon attack as cops release CCTV of moment he fled

A public appeal has been issued to help identify a man believed to be involved in an unprovoked sexual assault. 

Queensland Police said a woman was walking along Blackall Street in the Ipswich suburb of Basin Pocket, west of Brisbane, around 4pm on August 1.

The woman was then approached by a man from behind, who is accused of grabbing and sexually assaulting her.

The offender quickly fled the scene on foot after the terrifying attack. 

Police released CCTV vision showing the man they would like to speak to. 

He is described as a young male, dark skinned in appearance, wearing a white t-shirt, khaki shorts and thongs.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area of Blackall Street at the time, or who may have dash-cam footage to come forward.
