J’Amore Morton, 28, from San Diego, knew his son Aiden was obsessed with owning a basketball hoop after a trip to Walmart.    

Aiden turned ten years old on September 22 receiving a hoverboard and a skateboard – but no basketball hoop.

So five days later, J’Amore and Aiden’s mother Jessica decided to surprise him.

As Jessica filmed them, J’Amore led his eldest son out into the backyard after breakfast.

When Aiden sees what his father has bought him, overcome with joy he screams and bolts across the yard to give him a hug.

J'Amore secretly bought the basketball hoop and hid it in the garage, before putting it together when his four children were asleep

Aiden immediately picks up his basketball, dribbles the ball and scores his first shot at the hoop. 

J’Amore, who is also called J’Amore Love, is an actor known for parts in It’s The Ghosts For Me (2021), Luccke and If Loving You Is Wrong (2014). 

He secretly bought the basketball hoop and hid it in the garage, before putting it together when his four children were asleep.

J'Amore posted the video online on TikTok on September 28 where it has received more than 250,000 views and 25,000 likes

Another said: ‘Legends say he missed the shot…’ 

‘This wasn’t a birthday gift,’ J’Amore told The San Diego Union-Tribune.

‘During the quarantine, we’d go to the park to play basketball. I thought, how can we make this happen every day so he doesn’t have exposure to COVID-19?’
