I hope the Democrats are happy.
They financially aided and abetted the victory of a full-blown election denier in Michigan.
His name is John Gibbs and he defeated Republican Congressman Peter Meijer on Tuesday by riding on a wave of economic support from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
Why in the world would Democrats back a candidate in a Republican primary?
Well, because Congressman Meijer was just one of ten House Republicans, who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump and Democrats saw that as a vulnerability that could be exploited.
So, the DCCC shadow endorsed his far-right primary opponent, in the hopes that Meijer would lose.
They ran a $425,000 ad campaign that disingenuously attacked Gibbs as ‘too conservative’ and ‘endorsed by Donald Trump.’
It quoted Gibbs calling Trump ‘the greatest president’ and pointed out that he worked for the Trump White House.
It was pretty much the exact campaign commercial that Gibbs himself would produce if he had the money to do it.
But he didn’t. So, the DCCC did it for him.
Democrats clearly believe that it would be easier to run against an extreme election denier than a legitimate opponent like Meijer.

They may be right – they may be wrong.
But there’s more at stake than a single congressional seat.
How about the integrity of our democracy?
Even some Democrats in Congress are disgusted by these tactics.
One anonymous Democrat told the Hill.com, ‘I’m so pissed I can’t see straight, because I think Peter Meijer did the right thing… We’re sending a message to Republicans that if you do the right thing, or if you vote with us, now we’re going to go after you.’
‘Is that really going to encourage people to work together? Try to find solutions?’ the lawmaker continued. ‘Is that what our values are?’
For his part, Meijer was stoic in defeat saying, ‘I’m proud to have remained true to my principles, even when doing so came at a significant political cost.’
I, however, am going to call bullshit on this entire thing.
I thought Democrats cared about democracy and the fate of the republic.
I thought the few Republicans, who voted to impeach Trump were heroes to the left.
I thought they were voting with their conscience at a moment of paramount importance to America.
So, where are these same Democrats and media cheerleaders now?
Well, according to an op-ed published by Meijer himself, they are playing ‘political jujitsu.’
For his part, Meijer (above) was stoic in defeat saying, ‘I’m proud to have remained true to my principles, even when doing so came at a significant political cost.’
‘The DCCC ad buy was more than Gibbs raised over the entire duration of his campaign. In other words, the Democrats are not merely attempting to boost a candidate over the finish line: They are subsidizing his entire campaign,’ he wrote.
Clearly, the left and their media allies only cheer for these Republicans when it suits their interests, and unfortunately Meijer has been caught in the wake of this hypocrisy.
And this is not the only campaign that Democrats are meddling in.
$627,000 was spent to boost a Trump-endorsed candidate in the Maryland gubernatorial race, and another $791,000 was spent attacking a moderate Republican in the Colorado Senate primary.
In Arizona, the state Democratic party stepping into to giving a helping hand to gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.
She is also an election conspiracy theorist, MAGA disciple and endorsed by Trump.
This race has a gotten a bit personal for me, as Arizona is my home state. And Lake has publicly attacked my mother, my deceased father, my brother Jimmy and me multiple times.
I think she is a threat to Arizona and democracy (truly).
As the votes are counted, Lake is currently leading her opponent Karrin Taylor Robson – a moderate, who is endorsed by Vice President Mike Pence.
We’ll see what happens in that race, but as my dad used to say: ‘The voters have spoken, the bastards.’
(That is a joke for anyone unable to interpret humor in print.)
The Democrats are not only politically craven, but they are also playing with fire. Even worse, they’re playing Russian roulette.
It was not so long ago that Democrats saw a whole host of Republican candidates running for president in 2016 and some hoped that Trump would win, because they believed he would be the easiest to beat.
But they underestimate the American people’s disgust with party.
Who knows — maybe an election-denying, MAGA Kool-Aid drinking fringe candidate may be a better option for some voters, who would back anyone that stands against the left’s progressive cultural and economic agenda.
The electoral blood will be on their hands.
Don’t forget this moment. Burn it into your brain forever. Democrats are absolutely and utterly full-of-it.

They only really want to defend the integrity of our democracy when it suits them politically.
Not only are they giving extreme candidates a chance, they are giving them a platform.
For the next three months, these candidates will be speaking to electorate – and not just Republicans, but independents.
Their views have now been legitimized by the electoral process.
Did I mention that Gibbs promoted the bizarre ‘Spirit Cooking’ conspiracy that claimed Hillary Clinton’s campaign staff engaged in Satanic rituals that invovled bodily fluids?
Who knows how many minds he may influence?
Everyone at the DCCC who took part in this charade should be ashamed of themselves.
What they just did was gross and pathetic.
The DCCC (or Big Tech for that matter) should not be putting their fingers on the scales of the elections.
This only breeds more suspicion and election conspiracy theories.
It hardens generations of voters to think that their voice doesn’t matter, because there are other, more powerful forces at play.
Consider all of this a warning shot as we enter into the general elections in November and onto the Presidential race in 2024.
The gloves are off, and the tribes have chosen sides.
According to the DCCC, the only good Republican is a ‘politically dead’ Republican, no matter the collateral damage.
The American public and our democratic process deserves better.
