Mother-of-four, 42, who suffered with lung condition, dies from Covid after she was forced to POSTPONE her second vaccination due to recurring illness

A mother-of-four has died from Covid after being forced to repeatedly postpone her second vaccine due to a recurring illness.

Kellyanne Syme, of Falkirk, Scotland, suffered from the lung condition Emphysema, which causes shortness of breath and damage to the air sacs.

She tested positive for coronavirus on December 20 but after taking a ‘bad turn’ on Christmas Eve, she was taken by ambulance to Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

The 42-year-old tragically passed away on January 4 in the intensive care unit after her body ‘struggled to fight the infection’.

Kellyanne received her first jab at the start of the governments rollout last year – but she was unable to get her second vaccination due to a recurring illness throughout 2021.

She leaves behind three daughters Taylor, 20, Katelyn, 23, Jennifer, 12, and her son Brenden, 22.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Taylor said: ‘My mum tested positive for Covid on December 20th and she was doing okay but she took a bad turn on Christmas Eve and I had to phone an ambulance.

‘We thought she was going to be okay but she was admitted to intensive care and her symptoms kept getting worse.’

The mother-of-four ‘repeatedly developed bacterial chest infections’, which were made worse by her lung condition – it subsequently forced her to rebook an appointment for her second jab in January.

But Kellyanne tragically caught the deadly virus on December 20 and passed away 11 days later.

Kellyanne’s mother Marianna, 67, is also currently in hospital fighting Covid after ‘being admitted just days before her daughter’.

Taylor has now set to a fundraising page to raise money for the funeral and paid tribute to her mother who was ‘the kindest soul’.

Writing on the page, she said: ‘Her lung condition meant her body just couldn’t fight the infection and she sadly passed away on 4th January – she fought so hard, right until the very end.

‘She was the most beautiful kindest soul you would ever meet and would help everyone and anyone.

‘She had the biggest heart and most infectious smile. She was the best mum and the best wee granny to Andre, four, Linkin, three, and baby Roman – they were her world.

‘I have never met anyone as strong as she was. She was a genuine angel. We’re making a GoFundMe to help give her the send off she deserves, any donations at all will be massively appreciated!’
