Philadelphia woman, 36, has her FACE burnt off after female attacker doused her in flammable liquid before setting her on fire

A homeless woman from Philadelphia has been left in a coma after having her face burnt off after she was set on fire by another woman in a horrific attack.

Alyssa Morales, 36, is still in a medically induced coma after she suffered second and third degree burns over 60 per cent of her body in the attack at Harrowgate Park at about 11.30pm last Thursday.

Morales is believed to have been with a man in the park before the pair got into an argument with a woman.

A witness said they saw the woman throw liquid over both Morales and the man before setting them both on fire, according to People Magazine.

The woman and the man then fled the scene.

Morales’s mother, Lee Ann Morales told CBS3: ‘She’s going to live, but she’ll have permanent damage.

‘She’s going to have to have a new face. I’m saying it, she’ll never have the face she was born with, and they said that’s the hard part when she can look in the mirror and see a different face looking back at her.’

She was in too much pain to identify herself when she arrived at the hospital, and was listed as a Jane Doe for two days before her family was able to see her.

According to a GoFundMe which has been set up to help pay for medical treatment, Morales will be in hospital for another three months before going to a rehabilitation facility.

Her mother added: ‘I’m sad, I’m broken, I’m angry, so angry,’ she added. ‘I just want to know who did this … Who could possibly do it?’
