Alec Baldwin steps out for a chilly stroll with his wife Hilaria in New York as he faces lawsuit for accidentally killing Halyna Hutchins on Rust set

Alec Baldwin emerged for a stroll in chilly New York alongside his wife Hilaria on Monday, as he faces a looming lawsuit for the accidental shooting of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins last month.

The actor, 63, bundled up in a cosy black jacket while pushing his son Eduardo, 14 months, along in a pram while his wife followed alongside him.

Alec has been keeping a low profile after accidentally firing the gun that killed a Hutchins on the set of his film Rust in New Mexico on October 21, but has since been seen out and about in New York.

Alec battled the freezing weather as he pushed his son while he was nestled in a pram, with Hilaria bundled up in a heavy white jacket.

However, Baldwin was spotted back in New York on Sunday dining with Hilaria, weeks after retreating to Vermont following the shooting incident.

The actor was spotted dining at Il Cantinori in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village on Sunday with his wife Hilaria Baldwin.

Baldwin looked tired and a bit worse for wear as he talked with his yoga instructor wife at their outdoor table around 9pm, according to onlookers.

‘We were very surprised to see him out because we knew he hasn’t been seen in public [in New York] since the accident,’ an onlooker at the restaurant told DailyMail.com.

‘He looked very rough and not very polished. He seemed very sullen.’

The witness said the couple were not approached during their meal since the restaurant was largely empty.

The outing marks first time the Baldwins have been seen together in New York since retreating to Manchester, Vermont, where they were staying in a hideaway rental with their six children while the investigation in Santa Fe continues.

Baldwin, who had been shooting the upcoming western film in New Mexico, was told the prop gun he was rehearsing with on set was ‘cold’, or safe to use, according to the Santa Fe county sheriff’s office.

But tragedy unfolded when he fired the weapon which turned out to be loaded with live rounds, killing Hutchins and injuring film director Joel Souza.

Baldwin released a statement expressing his ‘shock and sadness regarding the accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours.’

‘I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family,’ he said.

‘My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.’
