Big Brother: Josh Goudswaard is the first to be EVICTED from the show

Big Brother’s Josh Goudswaard is the first housemate to be EVICTED from the show – hours after declaring his love for Samantha Manovski

Josh Goudswaard was the first housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother house on Tuesday’s episode.

Despite forming a strong alliance with two other housemates, the 32-year-old model was booted off after being nominated against Estelle Landy and Samantha Manovski.

Josh’s exit came hours after he was awkwardly rejected by intimacy coach Samantha, who he had declared his love for after it was revealed the pair were ex-lovers away from the show.

Both Samantha and Josh received six votes in the eviction ceremony, with Joel Notley – who won the nomination challenge – casting the deciding vote.

After the news broke of his eviction, Josh held Samantha’s hand and left with a touching quote he had said on their first date.

‘I’ve got one thing to say,’ he said. ‘I don’t know if you remember, but on our first date I told you something afterwards and it was a quote from my favourite book.

‘It said, “Desire is desire. The sun cannot bleach it, nor the tide wash it away”.’

He later told producers: ‘I pretty much got what I needed to get out of the experience, and gave the girl of my dreams what she needed, too.

‘An opportunity for Australia to fall in love with her as much as I have.’

Hours earlier, Josh confessed his love to Samantha in the garden area – saying he still had strong feelings for her ever since they dated years prior.

But things didn’t quite go to plan, with Sam saying she ‘couldn’t promise’ that she might form a crush on him.

‘It’s not on my radar right now,’ she said. ‘I don’t know how I’m going to feel, and having that expectation on me…

‘You asked me last night if I’m ever going to form feelings for you.  I don’t know, and it’s just a lot.’

‘If you don’t want it, I will find someone who will want it,’ Josh defiantly responded. ‘Obviously you’re not saying anything I want to hear, so it is hard to hear.’

He later added: ‘My mum just showed me love is like walking into the ocean – it’s deep, it’s endless and it’s relentless, and that’s how I love.’

After saying it was ‘super devastating’ that Samantha didn’t feel the same way, he dramatically burst into the house and told his housemates he wanted them to nominate him.

‘If we have a challenge, I’d really appreciate you put me up for nomination. I’m being dead serious,’ he said.

Big Brother continues Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel Seven
