Carol has previously spoken of her pride for son Cameron, 24, after he overcame severe learning difficulties in his early life.

Cameron, who has high spectrum autism, ADD, dyslexia and ADHD, overcame adversity in order to attain his undergraduate and then masters degree.

In November, Cameron graduated with a master’s degree in Animation and VFX, with Carol documenting the ceremony on Instagram.

She shared: ‘Such a wonderful day @dundeeuni. So Cameron was in a special school with severe learning difficulties for most of his early life but he’s worked hard and learned strategies and boy how he’s turned it all around.

‘I couldn’t be prouder of him. We never dared to dream this day might come when he graduated with a first class honours last year and now a Masters degree in Animation and VFX.

‘Thank you Dundee for giving him all that you have over the last year. Amazing.’

Carol’s post comes after she took to her social media featuring another family member earlier this week.

She shared a post raising awareness for cleft lips and palates by posting a snap with her older brother Anton who was born with the condition.

Alongside the smiling snap, the TV host explained that her sibling, 70, had undergone 24 operations in his lifetime as well as having speech therapy.

Carol told how Anton had been born with the ‘severest form’ of left lip and palate and his mother – who was a single parent – paid for him to have the therapy.

Carol, who is Patron for Clapa Community, is currently taking part in a fundraising challenge Step Up for Clapa for Cleft Awareness Week.

The former Countdown whizz, wrote: ‘This week is CLEFT AWARENESS WEEK. With my big brother Anton this week doing our STEP UP FOR CLAPA (Cleft Lip and Palate Association) to raise awareness of cleft.

‘Anton was born with the severest form of cleft lip and palate and has had 24 operations over his life.

‘Cleft varies dramatically and can need specific care and surgery through many years including speech therapy.

‘Our Mum brought us up as a single parent from when Anton was 7, our father didn’t give her a penny for very many years.

‘So she had up to 5 part time jobs to get money for food on the table and one of the things she saved hard for was speech therapy lessons for Anton back in the 1960s. It changed his life. Now this is quite rightly provided on the NHS.

‘Anyway here we are all these years later having a few little walks around Pembs I’ve been patron of for over 20 years and Anton is a champion for the charity. It’s a small charity but a fine one x.’

Carol looked sensational as she beamed wearing a grey long sleeved top and black sports leggings as she shaded from the sun in a pair of sunglasses.

She seemed in high spirits as she hid her shoulder length tresses under a stylish fedora hat.

She also shared a snap of Anton beaming in front of the sea on a cliff edge by two ponies.

She captioned the stunning selfies: ‘Another lovely day adding steps for STEP UP FOR CLAPA @clapacommunity with my lovely brother. CLEFT AWARENESS WEEK.

‘Anton is 7 years older than me. He was born with a severe cleft lip and palate and we grew up in Prestatyn in North Wales in a tiny flat.’

Detailing her childhood, she added: ‘Our parents had split up and our father was nowhere to be seen so Anton was like my ‘little Daddy’.

‘He looked after me and because he didn’t like going out too much as a young boy with cleft he stayed in with me and taught me chess and machinery and mental maths and we would go ‘jumbling’ to jumble sales and we would buy old bits of stuff and thought we had won the lottery!!!! Well we had in our heads.

‘So for the last 20 years I’ve been Patron of CLAPA and he has been Ambassador.

‘This week is about raising awareness of the whole ‘cleft journey’. I ❤️ my brother as you might be able to tell x’

Though some fans gushed over how ‘beautiful’ and ‘absolutely gorgeous’ the star is others congratulated her in ‘supporting the charity’  and how ‘touching’ it was.
