Holly Willoughby puts on a leggy display before jumping in the pool fully clothed on The Games 

She always manages to look effortlessly chic. 

So it came as no surprise to see Holly Willoughby was dressed to impress for her second day of hosting ITV’s The Games on Tuesday night. 

The presenter, 41, wowed in navy short suit as she presented alongside Freddie Flintoff before throwing caution to the wind and jumping in the swimming pool fully clothed at the end of the show.

Holly looked sensational in a pair of navy Karen Millen shorts that showed off her tanned and toned pins. 

She paired the garment with a matching blazer that featured white piping detail, while a pair of nude heels boosted her model frame. 

Yet while she may have been the picture of poise as she presented the second episode of the show, she later showed off her fun side by leaping into the pool alongside her co-host.

Earlier in the show, viewers were left delighted as  Wes Nelson swept the board in the men’s and mixed events and Ryan Thomas accidentally lost his trunks. 

The former Love Island star, 24, won in the men’s 50m freestyle swimming race and topped the leaderboard in the synchronised diving with his partner ITV news reader Lucrezia Millarini.

In atmospheric live scenes at the London Aquatics Centre, Wes beat off stiff competition in the 50m freestyle, as he battled it out against fellow celebrities Colson Smith, Ryan Thomas Max George, Josh Herdman and Kevin Clifton.

In the race Wes came first, followed by Max in second and Josh in a respectable third.

Speaking after his win, an out of breath Wes said: ‘I did a bit of a doggy paddle before I got to the wall for the turn but in the end it was fine. 

‘I was just trying to not drown! I tried to swim my own race and get the goal and I’m so thrilled with that performance!’

Corrie’s Colson came in last but wowed fans and the audience with his performance after only learning to swim five weeks ago for the competition.

Speaking after the race he said: ‘I’m buzzing, I am the happiest person to come last at an event! But it is a best for me I’m so happy! I beat my best time ever I did it in under 55 seconds!’

In an earlier VT viewers saw how Colson got on in training and how he was nervous to do pool events after being called ‘the fat kid at school’ when he was in his trunks.

He said: ‘Only learnt to swim five weeks ago. I was the fat kid at school so I didn’t want to get in the pool.

‘Then I got addicted to running and I lost weight. So I want to show that I have no limits now and try and do it in less then a minute.’ 

Next up for the competitors was the synchronised diving where the stars jumped off a 5m board in their mixed couple pairings.

While Ryan and his partner Chelsea Grimes won in the second round of the event, it was Wes and Lucrezia who came out on top overall.

Presenter Holly later quipped: ‘I thought the whole point of budgie smugglers was that they stayed on!’ 

Elsewhere in the episode Ryan came first in the canoe slalom event while Olivia Attwood beat the girls to come first in the women’s 50m breaststroke race.

The Games will be on nightly this week until Friday 13 April, with the 12 contestants battling it out in a series of challenges.

It comes after weeks of gruelling training, which saw the celebrities be put through their paces in the intense preparation.  

All have been pulled out of their comfort zones to be coached as athletes, swimmers and cyclists, to compete in the hope of coming top of the medals table and being crowned the winners.

Hosted live by Holly and Freddie Flintoff, The Games also features former professional football player and presenter Chris Kamara as commentator.

Through the sporting challenges, celebrities will rack up points on the medals table as they go head-to-head to reach the top. 

As the leader board takes shape with each night, the series will culminate in an exhilarating final showdown in which one male champion and one female champion will be crowned.  

The Games continues on Tuesday evening at 9pm on ITV.
