Last Comic Standing star Ricarlo Flanagan has died at 40 from COVID-19: ‘An extremely talented performer and even nicer human being’

Actor and comedian Ricarlo Flanagan, who appeared on Last Comic Standing, has died at the age of 40 after a battle with COVID-19.

‘Sadly this pandemic has taken the life of an extremely talented performer and even nicer human being,’ his agent, Stu Golfman, told Variety in a statement. ‘Ricarlo will be greatly missed.’

Flanagan addressed his battle with COVID-19 earlier this month on his Twitter page, writing, ‘This COVID is no joke. I don’t wish this on anybody.’

Friends of the late entertainer have started a Go Fund Me account to help his relatives defray costs amid the tragic time.

‘Our dear friend has suddenly passed away and sadly was far from his family,’ organizer Gabriela Bonilla wrote, describing Flanagan as ‘a loving son, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend with many amazing talents.’

Bonilla continued: ‘He brought laughter to every room he walked in. We would like to get him home to his family in Cleveland, Ohio, so his family can put him to rest. 

‘We ask that you please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.’

Flanagan appeared on Last Comic Standing’s ninth season in 2015, two years after he had released his first comedy album, Man Law.

He also had roles on the Showtime series Shameless and Walk the Prank for Disney Plus, and made appearances on shows including The Carmichael Show, The Mick, Room 104, The Neighborhood and Insecure.

Flanagan also was a rapper, having put out three albums under the name Father Flanagn. According to his Twitter page, he had been slated to put out a new album titled Both Sides of the Brain on Tuesday.
