Looking over at Tina, he continued to cry, adding: ‘Tears of joy, obviously. We really feel we’re in a good place, and it was the right time to put a label on it, I suppose.’

His revelation left the other islanders thrilled, as they happily congratulated the newly minted couple.

‘So, Tina’s my first girlfriend ever,’ Mitch laughed, as the other islanders erupted in excited cheers.

As the boys embraced him, Mitch broke down in tears once again, with the others urging him to ‘stop crying’.

‘I think… Oh, God. I’m going to cry again. I hoped that I would come in here and find someone that I liked,’ added an emotional Tina.

‘And I didn’t know that it was going to be to the extent that it is, and that I would have such strong feelings for someone, let alone have those returned.’

Later in the episode, the couples were tasked with sending home the couple they thought was least likely to make it outside of the Love Island villa.

They opted to dump Courtney Stubbs and Noah Hura, but neither was too upset about the idea of going home.

Courtney admitted she was looking forward to finally having some alone time with Noah, 23, after sharing a bedroom with the other couples in the villa.

‘I don’t think we can keep our hands off each other, so going home tonight really isn’t that big of a problem,’ the 23-year-old confessed.

Standing alongside an increasingly embarrassed Noah, Courtney added: ‘Yeah, I’m excited.’

Her raunchy confession prompted the other couples to laugh, before they embraced Courtney and Noah and said their goodbyes.

The Love Island Australia finale airs Wednesday at 9.30pm on Channel Nine
