Love Island finalist Indiyah Polack says Dami Hope is ‘ready’ to be a father as they discuss future

They came in third place during Monday’s night Love Island finale.

And Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope have discussed their plans to move in together and eventually start a family as they opened up about life after the villa.

The couple won the baby challenge as they became parents for the day on the ITV2 dating show, and they have admitted that they want to have children in the future.

Speaking after the grand final, Indiyah, 23, gushed that Dami, 26, is ‘ready’ to be a father and said she enjoyed seeing her partner being so ‘hands on’ with their ‘baby’ Sienna during the challenge.

‘I feel like Dami is maybe ready to be a dad. He’s actually a perfect dad. Seeing Dami with Baby Sienna was really cute,’ she said.

‘But kids, definitely in the future and it was nice to see Dami being hands on. I know in the future, he’ll be a great dad.’

The couple also opened up about their plans to move in together in London, but admitted that they don’t want to rush and want to meet each other’s families first.

‘I’m going to move to London but I don’t know if we’ll get our own place so soon,’ Dami said.

While Indiyah added: ‘Not straight away. We have to look around, spend time, meet families and stuff and do it when the time is right. 

‘I feel like it won’t be an issue because we’ve spent so much time together and we know that we can live together.’

Speaking about meeting each other’s families, Dami said he was preparing himself for another grilling from Indiyah’s mother Dee, after she quizzed him about his Casa Amor antics during the Meet The Parents episode.

Dee and Indiyah’s sister Shak visited the couple in the Love Island villa on Sunday’s episode, and asked Dami about his notorious three-way kiss and decision to couple up with Summer Botwe in Casa Amor.

Speaking about seeing Indiyah’s family again after leaving the villa, Dami said: ‘I still have to go to her mum’s barbecue and maybe get another grilling..!’

And the couple proved they are thinking seriously about their future together after eight weeks in the Love Island villa as they hinted at a possible engagement in the future.

Speaking about the ring that Dami gave her after the Snog Marry Pie challenge, Indiyah teased: ‘It’s our promise ring. But now we’re actually boyfriend and girlfriend, I’ve got to wait for a real ring…’

But she said it might be hard for any future proposal to live up to their ‘ten out of ten’ final date on Love Island, which saw them joined by Spanish dancers for a fiesta.

Indiyah also joked that she plans to pursue her passion for playing the recorder after leaving the villa, after she left fans and her fellow Islanders in stitches with her performance during the talent show.

She quipped: ‘Hopefully in a couple of months I’ll be a grade ten, I think I’m at beginners now! You’ll see my album of recorder stuff – Indiyah and her recorder!’ 

Dami and Indiyah came in third place after making it to the Love Island 2022 final, with Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page coming in fourth place.

Gemma Owen and Luca Bish came in second place, but it was Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti who were crowned as winners and took home the £50,000 cash prize.

Speaking about Ekin-Su and Davide’s victory, Indiyah described it as a ‘well-deserved win’ while Dami described their relationship as a ‘true love story’. 

Dami said: ‘I always told Davide if he and Ekin got back together, it would be like a true love story. 

‘I feel like the way they are with each other, the humour and they’re actually very entertaining as a couple as well. Both together, they deserved to win.’

While Indiyah added: ‘I feel like it’s a well-deserved win. Both of their journeys have not been easy and they’ve had bumps along the way but the way they’ve managed to overcome it and put their differences aside.’

Dami went on to insist that he ‘genuinely’ think his co-stars’ relationship will work on the outside and said it was touching to see Davide open up after their final date.

Speaking about making it to the final themselves, Dami admitted that it was ‘pretty surreal’ but said he was over the moon to have found his ‘happy ending’. 

‘I came in here with no expectations. I was so giddy and hopeful before I went in and now I’m here with a girlfriend. We’re here now and it’s a happy ending,’ he said.

Indiyah added: ‘Really happy and surprising. I’m so grateful to have come this far and to have done the whole thing.’

Summing up their time in the villa, Indiyah said it always felt ‘easy’ for them to overcome any disagreements or blips as she gushed that they had found love on the show.

‘Unexpected journey! We had a few bumps but even though we had bumps, it was never a struggle,’ she said.

‘Even when we had blips, it never felt like a chore. It felt easy and whenever we had differences or disagreements, it was very easy for us to sort it out and overcome it.’

While Dami added: ‘It felt like the title of the show – Love Island! We found love.’

Their comments come after the Love Island cast finally got their phones back as they returned to the real world following Monday night’s final.

Dami took to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday evening and revealed his phone had been returned to him as he and the rest of the finalists were staying in a nearby villa.

The Dubliner was joined on his Stories by winners Ekin-Su and Davide as they greeted their new fans. 

Dami shared an Instagram Live of himself walking around the grounds of the villa where he said most of the Islanders were being ‘anti-social’.

However, he did manage to get Tasha to appear on camera as she waved to his followers while lying in bed.  

Meanwhile, Andrew hosted a quick Instagram Live from the same villa where he was joined by Dami and runner up Luca.

The boys laughed and joked around as they watched Davide and Ekin-Su getting interviewed in the garden of the villa.

Ekin-Su and Davide were crowned the winners of Love Island 2022 on Monday night, and voting figures have revealed they secured more than half of the public vote.

Across Sunday and Monday, viewers were able to vote for their favourite couple to be crowned as winners and go home with the £50,000 cash prize – which for the first time ever wasn’t offered as a ‘split or steal’ deal.

And final voting figures released by ITV have revealed that fan favourites Ekin-Su and Davide, both 27, secured a staggering 63.69 per cent of the public vote.

They won the ITV2 dating contest by a landslide as runners-up Gemma Owen and Luca secured just 14.47 per cent of the viewers’ final votes.

Dami and Indiyah, who came in third place, followed closely behind with 11.77 per cent of fans voting for them, while fourth place finalists Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri received 10.07 per cent of votes.

According to the figures, Ekin-Su and Davide were firmly in the lead by nearly 50 per cent of viewers’ votes, also proving them the second most popular winning couple ever on Love Island.

Their landslide victory was beaten only by 2018 winners Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham, who secured a massive 79.66 per cent of the public vote during the final.
