Love Island’s Gemma Owen shares her first snap WITHOUT Luca Bish

Gemma Owen has posted her first Instagram picture since leaving the Love Island villa on Monday evening – and it doesn’t feature her beau Luca Bish.

The Love Island runner up, 19, posed for the solo shot after returning to her family home in North Wales, Lower Soughton Hall, a Grade II listed manor house near Mold.

While Luca, 23, was notably absent from the snap, he did comment on the post – finally admitting he was ‘punching’ with Gemma, after insisting he wasn’t.

On the show, Gemma introduced herself as being from Chester, but she actually resides nearby in the £4million estate, complete with stables for her beloved horses.

The international dressage rider looked glamorous in a white vest top teamed with form-fitting trousers, as she posed on a bench at a local bar.

Gemma, who said it was ‘so good’ to be back home, wore her glossy brunette locks in a blown out style and opted for a full face of make-up.

‘I am genuinely so grateful for all the support throughout, thank you so much. I’m looking forward to the next chapter now and will keep you updated on the journey.’

Luca, who didn’t appear in the snap, did make sure he commented on Gemma’s first post.

Underneath the snap, he wrote: ‘okay so it turns out I am punching’, as he referenced a comment he made on the show.

Luca’s original comment sparked a row with fellow Islander Paige Thorne, who told Luca he was ‘punching’ with Gemma.

On Wednesday, Luca revealed he’s planning on moving house to Chester to be near Gemma, after they found love on the ITV dating show.

Luca – who is still yet to make it official with Gemma – said he would move to the area, but won’t be moving into the Owen’s family home.

The fishmonger hopes to ‘fit right in’ with the famous family and revealed they had spoken since they apparently ‘snubbed’ him on social media.

Speaking in a post-finale interview, Luca told how he had a quick phone call with Gemma’s family – which also includes her father Michael  – and he’s looking forward to meeting them in person.

Asked what his family will think of Gemma, Luca said: ‘My family will love her! They’ve already said they love you. My sister, mum and nan, that’s the one I look for as my dad is easy-going.

‘They’ve all given their approval. We got a call last night after the final and speaking to your [Gemma’s] family, I got a few moments with them and I am buzzing to meet them in person.’

Gemma was asked about her mother’s opinion of Luca and said: ‘If my mum was like “absolutely not” then yeah I think that would be the end of it.

‘I haven’t had a chance to speak to her properly but from the small bits I’ve heard, she’s really happy and likes him.’

Luca admitted: ‘I was nervous. I’ve been anxious about meeting your mum and hearing what she’s got to say.’

Of meeting Luca’s family, Gemma added: ‘I’m not really nervous to meet Luca’s family.

‘I think they all seem absolutely lovely and I’m not nervous for Luca to meet mine because I think they’ll get on and he’ll fit straight in. His personality, his banter and what he loves, I think he’ll get on with everyone. ‘

Following Gemma and Luca’s second-place finish, the fishmonger’s family were quick to congratulate the couple, posting a snap of them together with a gushing caption.

It read: ‘Thank you SO much from the bottom of our hearts for all of the support you’ve shown this gorgeous couple. So excited to continue watching your journey from the outside. You really did win by finding each other.’

This was in stark contrast to Gemma’s Instagram, which noticeably only posted solo snaps of the brunette beauty in the lead-up and following the final, with beau Luca noticeably absent.

Sharing a solo snap of Gemma clad in a nude ruched gown, her loved ones penned the caption: ‘Words can’t describe how proud we all are of Gemma.

‘She has shown the nation how mature, honest and classy she truly is. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for all the love and support…Gemma is going to be SO overwhelmed.

‘We are passing this back to Gemma now… We have loved running her account and being part of her @loveisland journey. We can’t wait for what the future holds.’

Eagle-eyed fans at home were quick to notice this, and took to Twitter to suggest that Gemma’s family were not overly fond of Luca and that they were doing ‘damage control’ to protect Gemma’s brand.

One said: ‘I love that Gemma’s family doesn’t even try to hide the fact that they don’t like Luca’.

Another pointed out: ‘Anyone else think Gemma’s said something off camera about Luca to her family because why is theres 0 pics of him since the meet the parents. No mention of him on her caption – no stories nothing Team Gemma instead of Lemma’.

While a third echoed: ‘Gemma’s family/account handlers already doing damage control and distancing Gemma from Luca as quick as possible I am in TEARS!!’

And a fourth agreed, writing: ‘Gemma’s family only posted her and how proud they are of her. no mention of luca. She’s done with him’.
