MasterChef’s Melissa Leong admits to using Botox as she reveals her night-time skincare routine

She has one of the most recognisable faces on TV.

And MasterChef Australia judge Melissa Leong revealed on Wednesday she isn’t shy when it comes to trying new beauty treatments as she gets older.

The food critic, 39, said on Instagram she once dabbled in Botox, but chose not to make a habit of it.

‘I tried Botox once a few years back and hated it. I am too expressive in the face, so it also didn’t really take,’ she said.

Tried and tested: On Wednesday, MasterChef Australia judge Melissa Leong revealed she isn’t shy of trying new beauty alternatives as she continues to age, admitting to using botox before

She added: ‘Never tried filler (never wanted to), but I wouldn’t judge you if you did. You do you, so long as you’re old enough and informed enough to make those decisions for yourself.’

Melissa also called for less judgment of women over decisions they make regarding their personal appearance.

‘We need to kill the narrative about women perpetuated in the media,’ she said.

‘We maintain ourselves: we’re not real enough. We don’t: we’ve let ourselves go. How about letting women have agency over themselves and not judging them for their choices?’

Melissa always takes her makeup off after a long day, which involves a double cleanse.

‘I double cleanse with oil just to make sure everything’s off,’ she said of the first step in her night-time routine.

‘[The reason why] I like oil is because it does help to dissolve makeup really effectively and very gently,’ she added.

‘What I like about a night-time routine, whether or not that’s skincare or all of the other things, is just it’s a nice way to have some you time,’ she said.

It comes after Melissa stepped out with her new boyfriend Rob Mason earlier this month at the Melbourne Cup carnival.
