Naughty Boy’s family have banned his mum from watching I’m A Celebrity due to dementia

Naughty Boy’s family have banned his dementia-stricken mother from watching Tuesday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

The producer, 36, was seen getting emotional and debating leaving the castle, which prompted his niece Aisha to protect Zahida, 66, from becoming distressed.

Discussing his absence, Aisha told The Sun: ‘Watching it she will get confused, especially if she saw him doing the trial, she would have been very, very distressed.’

Unfortunate: Naughty Boy’s family banned his mum from watching Tuesday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, since she suffers from dementia

Detailing how Zahida is coping, she went on: ‘During the day, she is always like, “Where is he? Is he coming home?” and we have to keep reminding her that no, he is on the show and she will see him on TV…

‘Most nights, she will cheer, “That is my son,” and she will talk to the TV, bless her.’

Naughty Boy, real name is Shahid Khan, stunned fans earlier this week when he threatened to quit the show when the camps were divided.

He was chosen to do a trial by the stars in the main camp, believing he was picked because he was the ‘weakest link’ in The Clink.

Upset: The music producer, 36, got upset and admitted his time in the castle could be up in the installment, which prompted his niece Aisha to protect Zahida, 66, from becoming distressed

Aisha admitted she had been ‘worried’ about his mental state prior to his appearance in the ITV favourite due to the two weeks of quarantining before entering.

In emotional scenes however, Naughty Boy befriended a robin – lovingly named Sunny, who saved the day when he shared a special moment with Naughty Boy, who was very happy to see him.

Naughty Boy decided to consult Sunny on his dilemma as he talked out his troubles with the little bird. Arlene agreed, as she said: ‘Let Sunny tell you what to do.’

Naughty Boy confessed to David and Arlene that he felt Sunny was trying to change his mind and that he had successfully convinced him to stay at the derelict castle.

And, just as the pair had come to a resolution, Richard read out a scroll as he told his campmates that their time in The Clink had come to an end.

Following the news that is was now time to join the other camp, Naughty Boy said: ‘I’m going to the main camp to see how I feel when I get there.’

Feeling sad: He told his fellow campmates: 'I do think my time here is done. I had a feeling earlier and I was thinking about mum and obviously I love you guys'

He added: ‘I’m feeling buoyant, I’m feeling good, I’m so blessed to have these guys.’

The affectionately named Sunny the Robin, provided a beacon of hope when Naughty Boy encountered the bird on this first morning in The Clink.

Speaking in the Telegraph he said: ‘I was even questioning, should I be here? A robin flew in. I felt something. That robin’s here to see me. We chilled for a bit.

‘Yeah, I was thinking that robin came with a message and all that message is is everything’s going to be OK.’

Before entering the jungle, Naughty Boy detailed his mother’s health battles, as he said: ‘I think it is important for people like myself to create awareness about it.

‘Dementia UK needs constant funding, and I am going to miss mum the most whilst I am away in the castle. I live with Mum, and I am used to seeing her all the time.’

He revealed earlier this year that he had stepped back from music to spend more time with his mother and act as her carer.

He said: ‘Mum hasn’t been very well, and it is going to be difficult for me being away. But that said, I think the break will be good for both of us.’
