Olympic BMX gold medallist Logan Martin announces his wife Kimberly has given birth to their second child – and reveals her very sweet name

Olympic BMX gold medallist Logan Martin has announced his wife Kimberly has given birth to the couple’s second child.

On Wednesday, the 27-year-old athlete – who already shares son Noah, two, with his partner – confirmed the happy news on Instagram, unveiling the little girl’s adorable name as Luna Mae.

Alongside images of the newborn immediately after she arrived into the world, Logan wrote: ‘Welcome to this beautiful world Luna Mae Martin.

‘Our little girl born on 11th January 2022 at 6:14pm! Delivered by natural birth, @k_castel and Luna are both doing great.

‘Due to Noah being breach he was a planned caesarean so this was the first time going through a natural birth… and what a WILD thing to experience.

’12 hours of labour and 2 hours of pushing until Bub came out. Kim did such an amazing job and I’m so blown away by the strength and determination she showed to get little Luna out! So proud of you babe.’

Logan also shared a sweet picture of his newborn baby sleeping next to a stuffed rabbit toy, and one of little Noah meeting his sister for the very first time.

Kimberly also took to her own Instagram page to announce the news, writing: ‘Spontaneous labour at 37+6. Just 1 week short of our booked Caesarean. 

‘My waters broke at 4am and we begun pushing at 4:15pm. Pushing was an exhausting but rewarding 2 hours long. All I can say is Thank God our family of four is complete and Logan still loves me after all of that – we did it babe!’

He wowed viewers with a stunning no-handed front flip in the first run earning him an winning score of 93.30, and making history as the first ever gold medallist as the sport made its debut. 

After learning of her husband’s victory, Kim spoke to Karl Stefanovic on the Today show about how incredible it was to see her husband land the gold.

‘I think everyone here was just crying and cheering. It was a moment that will never been forgotten,’ she said.
