Squid Game has become the most popular TV show across the globe and is on track to become the biggest Netflix original series.
But the South Korean stars at the centre of the hit show are not exactly lining up projects in Hollywood.
Squid Game’s main actor Lee Jung-jae, who plays Seong Gi-hun or contestant 456, has revealed that big movie executives have not yet been in touch.

‘No proposals or requests have come my way,’ the 48-year-old South Korean star told Variety on Monday.
It’s of no concern for the award-winning actor, who is already an established veteran of the entertainment industry in his own country.
Lee explained that while he isn’t waiting for a call from Tinseltown, he is always open to doing an overseas project in the near future.

‘For now, I don’t have any plans to do an overseas project. But if a good opportunity presented itself, of course I’d be open to it,’ he said.
Lee added that for now he’s enjoying doing ‘one job at a time’.
Lee achieved fame in South Korea after starring in a series of drama and romance films from the late 90s and early 2000s; but it was Netflix’s Squid Game that put him on the international stage.
‘I didn’t expect this kind of success at all when I first boarded ‘Squid Game’ … But when I read the script, I understood that it contained elements that could resonate with everyone and work outside of Korea,’ the actor said.
