Specifics about the film’s plot points are currently being withheld from the public, although Deadline pointed out that production was set to begin next month.
Adam Warlock’s on-screen debut was hinted at during the end of Vol. 2, in which Ayesha, portrayed by Elizabeth Debicki, showed off the development of a character who would defeat the Guardians.
Work on the project began during the production of the second film, during which Gunn came up with several ideas for a future feature.

However, the production company distanced itself from the filmmaker in July of 2018 after several old tweets that covered various controversial topics were brought to the attention of the public.
Gunn later apologized for his comments and was removed from the lineup of several promotional events regarding the film.
Many fans of the franchise later came out in support of the director, and several of its stars, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper, issued a statement to express their admiration for the filmmaker.
Dave Bautista notably threatened to leave the film series if the writer was not reinstated by Disney and Marvel executives.
