Micah Richards and Karen Carney couldn’t help but sing Kevin de Bruyne’s praises after he helped Manchester City beat Wolves 5-1 in their Premier League clash on Wednesday evening.
The Belgium international scored four of City’s goals as the Citizens went three points clear at the top of the Premier League table and moved within four points of claiming the title.
Richards said De Bruyne had been ‘extraordinary’ and that the fixture had turned into a midfield masterclass from the 30-year-old. While Carney expressed her excitement as seeing De Bruyne play alongside Erling Haaland next season.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Richards said: It’s was the Kevin de Bruyne show today, it really was.
‘Manchester City produce so many opportunities, it’s just about finishing them. It’s been an extraordinary season.
‘With Kevin getting into those spaces, you’ve got to get tighter to him (for first goal). From a Manchester City point of view it’s a brilliant, brilliant, goal.’

Both Micah Richards and Karen Carney were full for praise for the 30-year-old after the game
Richards went on to speak about De Bruyne’s third goal of the evening by praising his ability to finish on his left foot. He said: ‘Taking it on his weaker foot. To get everything right is a brilliant finish.’
Richards finished by saying: ‘Today Kevin de Bruyne was in that central role, they didn’t know how to live with him.
‘He would’ve been disappointed against Real because they did manage to keep him quiet. He wasn’t allowed to get into the pockets of space.
‘When you have disappointment, you have to react. To have a player like Kevin de Bruyne (in extra-time), it might have been different, they crumbled on the pitch.’
Former professional footballer Karen Carney agreed with Richards by saying: ‘Kevin de Bruyne took the game by the scruff of the neck.
De Bruyne will play alongside Erling Halaand (above) next season after announced on Tuesday that the Norway international will join Pep Guardiola’s squad in the summer
‘I felt he sensed it tonight. No one picked him up and he punished them, he was clinical. You’ve got to give him credit (for his goals and assists). With Erling Haaland signing, his numbers are only going to get further up.’
